New Member Qualifications

Forbes Rifle & Pistol Club, Inc. welcomes those interested in competitive shooting.

If competitive shooting interests you, additional information, as well as a new member printable application, can be found here.

Please note that a sponsor (Forbes' member in good standing) and completion of a new member orientation (conducted at the range the 2^nd Saturday of the month) is required. The proposed member must appear at a quarterly meeting with their sponsor, where their membership will be voted on.

The Board of Directors has set the following qualifications for new members, commencing January 1, 2009.

Proof of:

1. an NRA classification in a shooting sport; or,

2. satisfactory completion of a smalls arms training school; or

3. current peace officer, or service in the armed forces.

Please remember that new members must also attend an orientation course, held once a month, commencing in March, before being allowed to use the range.

Renewals

ANNUAL DUES INCREASED-DUE DATE CHANGED FOR 2010

Annual membership dues for 2010 have been raised to $40.00 and are payable no later than January 31st, 2010. Dues WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AFTER THAT DATE until further notice from the Board of Directors.

PICTURE I.D.

Membership Identification Cards have been redesigned to include a picture I.D. Members must submit, either by mail, e-mail for attending a membership meeting, a current passport size picture with their dues in order to receive a membership card. Your renewal or application will not be processed unless a picture is submitted. You may have your picture taken free of charge at the next quarterly meeting. If you have family that are members they will also need to send in a photo inorder to get an ID.

ELECTRONIC GATE

Forbes has agreed to participate with Watervliet Fish & Game Club to use an electronic gate to control access to both Forbes and Watervliet ranges. The electronic gate will be in use starting January 1st, 2010. There is a onetime $10.00 fee for the gate key which is payable with your annual dues. However, if you are a Watervliet member and purchase your key from that club you will not have to purchase an additional key from Forbes.

For Membership only, send check or money order for $40.00 together with a passport size photo.
For Membership and gate key, send check or money order for $50.00 and photo. Family members that need a gate key will have to send an additional $10 for each family member.

Membership is based on the calendar year (January 1^st - December 31^st). Please note that membership dues are expected to be received by November 1^st of the preceeding year. Members who fail to pay by January 31^st will be stricken from the roll. Dues continue at $40 and include family members up to and including age 18. A photo ID is required for all family members.

Members in good standing can renew by mailing a check or money order, payable to Forbes Rifle & Pistol Club, Inc. to the membership director at:

Be sure to include any address change and include the names of family members who will need a card. Your membership card will contain the new combination to the range locks. It will appear on your card as "Key No. ****". The new combination goes into effect January 1^st. Your old key number will be valid until that date.
